Androsterone
Androsterone is a major metabolite of testosterone and androstenedione along with the enantiomer etiocholanolone. Androsterone is also part of the "backdoor pathway" from allopregnanolone to dihydrotestosterone, which has importance in certain disease states. Androsterone is one of a few steroids with neutral activity that interact with ?-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors.
